Tabitha does as much as possible on your Mac and as little as possible anywhere else. It has no account and no telemetry. Tabitha does not upload your window titles, window previews, tabs, or search text. You control any diagnostic report you send by email.

What stays on your Mac
- Window list and previews. Tabitha reads open windows and tabs to show them. Previews are kept in memory only and are discarded when Tabitha quits.
- Settings, trial, and license. Your settings, the trial start date, and your license key are stored on your Mac.
- Insights. Switch counts per app are stored on your Mac as app identifiers and numbers, never titles.
- Crash reports. Tabitha stores up to five diagnostic reports from macOS on your Mac. It does not upload them automatically.
We receive the locally stored information above only when you choose to include it in a support message or diagnostic report.
What we process, why, and for how long
Update checks
Once a day, if automatic update checks are on, and whenever you choose Check for Updates, Tabitha downloads the update feed from updates.fewersteps.app. The request contains your IP address and the versions of Tabitha and of its updater. We use it to deliver updates and to count how many copies of each version are in use. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping Tabitha secure and up to date. We look only at aggregated counts. Our hosting provider may keep request logs, including IP addresses, for a few days. You can turn automatic checks off in Settings.
Slack workspace icons
Only if you turn on "Split by workspace" for Slack and keep "Show workspace icons" on, Tabitha downloads your workspace icons from Slack's servers. Slack receives your IP address. We receive nothing.
Purchases
Paddle.com, our reseller and Merchant of Record, collects your payment details, name, email, and billing country under its own privacy policy. Paddle shares your email, name, country, and order number with us. We use them to create and send your license key and to help you with your order. The license key contains your email and order number. Legal basis: performance of the contract. We keep this data while your license exists and as long as Czech tax and accounting law requires.
When you write to us, we process your email address and your message to answer you. Send Feedback in Tabitha adds the Tabitha and macOS versions to the draft. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you. We keep the conversation for up to three years after it ends, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
Send Crash Report opens a mail draft with the newest local report attached. Reports contain device and operating-system details, stack traces, and exception text. Exception text can include information supplied by the app. Review the attachment before sending. We use reports you send to investigate faults and keep them with the support conversation under the same terms.
This website
This website sets no cookies of its own. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site, and may keep request logs for a few days. We read only aggregated request counts from it, such as visits per page and per country. Visitors outside the European Union also load Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless script that reports page views, referring sites, and page load times without identifying or following individual visitors; visitors in the European Union do not get this script. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running the site and knowing which pages people read. When you choose Continue to checkout on the buy page, it loads Paddle's checkout, which sets the cookies a payment needs; Paddle's own privacy notice covers them.
Who receives data
- Paddle.com Market Limited, our reseller and Merchant of Record (United Kingdom).
- Cloudflare, Inc., which hosts this website and the update feed (United States).
- Slack, only if you turn on workspace icons (United States).
- Our email provider, our accountant, and authorities when the law requires it.
The United Kingdom has an EU adequacy decision. Transfers to the United States rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict its processing, receive it in a portable format, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and withdraw any consent. Email us to use any of these rights. We answer within one month.
You can also complain to the Czech data protection authority: Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Praha 7, uoou.gov.cz.
Security
We collect as little as possible. All connections use HTTPS, and every update is signed and notarized by Apple before macOS opens it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If Tabitha ever adds optional usage statistics, they will be off until you turn them on, and this policy will describe them first.
